3 Truths to Move Forward

On Thursday, September 1 — the first of the month, I sat with disappointment while asking myself the question:

Is it your day one or your one day?

That day, I chose to make it my day one. The invitation to pour into the truth of the moment and practice the lesson that keeps revealing itself — tell the truth every time.

And so, on the other side of the Full Moon in Pisces, I practice and remind us all that…

Here’s what is, which feels invisible while true — 1 person* signed up for the Beyond Allyship Accelerator and before registration closed, there were none. Intellectually, I know it’s not personal.

Folx are busy.

Funds are tight.

The timing wasn’t right.

And, because multiple things can be true at the same time…

My intuition, the inner knowing in my sacral, is experiencing how most whyte women in the social sector (any sector really) are NOT willing to put something on the line (aka share resources, opportunities, and social capital) for Black and brown leaders.^

Sitting with Disappointment

I’ve allowed myself to surrender to the wisdom and emotional experience that comes with disappointment. I sat by the water to alchemize. I swam it out. I sat with the ebb and flow of it all.

Allowing myself to take the time I needed to pen my thoughts fully.
